What you can do with Coda.

  • Keep operational rows current

Match incoming records to existing rows, update the right columns, and reconcile results without scattering duplicate entries.

  • Act inside your playbook

Run configured row buttons and webhook-invoked automations at the right moment, with the required inputs and follow-through.

  • Reuse what already works

Copy proven docs for new clients or teams, populate their existing tables, and keep document names and sharing aligned with each handoff.

Get started in three steps.

01

Open your workspace

Create a SPIRITT workspace for the operational docs, client systems, or knowledge workflows you want to run.

A workspace connected to team conversations
02

Connect Coda

Connect Coda with an API key authorized for the docs in scope. Creating docs or pages requires Doc Maker access in the applicable workspace.

Questions

Coda, with SPIRITT.

01Can SPIRITT edit Coda data as well as read documents?+
Yes. It can inspect tables and columns, read rows, and insert or update rows using key columns to match records. It can also create and copy docs, update page properties, read page content, and check mutation status. Updating page properties is distinct from rewriting existing page body content.
02What access is needed for pages, rows, and sharing?+
Connect Coda using an API key with access to the intended docs and actions. Creating docs or pages, and changing page titles or icons, requires Doc Maker access in the applicable workspace. Row and sharing operations remain subject to the connected account's permissions; connecting Coda does not grant additional access.
03Can it press Coda buttons and run automations?+
Yes. SPIRITT can press an existing button on a table row and trigger an existing automation configured as webhook-invoked. These execute actions already configured in the doc, so the mission should name the intended button or automation, explain its effects, and specify its operating conditions.
04Can it build a custom app without rebuilding my doc?+
Yes. SPIRITT can build a request portal, service catalog, or procedure search app around existing Coda tables and pages. Copying a proven template preserves its established table structure, while the new interface reads records and writes submissions to the intended tables. The app can enforce its own audience and requester access rules.
05How does Coda connect to my CRM and file library?+
HubSpot can supply customer records for a copied onboarding doc, Google Sheets can supply reference data for row reconciliation, and Google Drive can store completed page content exports. Gmail and Slack handle delivery and coordination while Coda retains the operational rows and pages.
06What is the difference between a Coda doc workflow and a Pack workflow?+
Doc workflows operate pages, rows, permissions, buttons, and configured automations. Pack workflows work with accessible Pack versions, releases, featured docs, and analytics. SPIRITT can compare registered versions and create a release for a designated tested version; that is a separate operation from changing the docs that use the Pack.
