Adafruit IO
Device data, put to work

SPIRITT sets up Adafruit IO feeds, groups and dashboards, publishes the values your devices act on, and reads sensor history to run alerts, reports and apps around your hardware.

What you can do with Adafruit IO.

  • Structure in minutes

Create feeds with units and history settings, group them by project and create a dashboard for each.

  • Data in, data out

Publish timestamped values in batches and page through feed history by time window for analysis anywhere.

  • Clean and within limits

Fix or delete bad readings and check plan limits and write throttle before every heavy job.

Get started in three steps.

01

Open your workspace

Start a SPIRITT workspace for your sensors, connected devices or IoT product.

A workspace connected to software projects
02

Connect Adafruit IO

Add the Adafruit IO key for your account, plus any apps that should receive or drive device data.

Questions

Adafruit IO, with SPIRITT.

01What can SPIRITT manage in Adafruit IO?+
Feeds, groups and dashboards: create, update, organize and delete them. SPIRITT also publishes values to feeds, reads feed history page by page and updates or deletes individual data points.
02Can SPIRITT send commands to my devices?+
SPIRITT publishes timestamped values to any feed. Devices that subscribe to that feed receive the value, so a schedule, a forecast or a business event can switch a relay or update a display.
03Can it react to sensor readings?+
Yes. SPIRITT reads the latest feed data at the interval you choose, checks it against your rules and takes the next step, such as paging someone, opening a work order or publishing a command.
04How does SPIRITT handle plan limits?+
It checks your account's plan limits and current data-write throttle, then paces bulk publishing and deletions to stay inside them.
05What does the connection need?+
An Adafruit IO key for the account SPIRITT should run. Other apps in a mission, such as Sheets or PagerDuty, connect separately.
06What can SPIRITT build with my feed data?+
Warehouse exports, monitoring and paging jobs, web apps that show device state, maintenance workflows and multi-site reports, all fed from your Adafruit IO history.
